A bit of a quiet one this week in the mailbox. Perhaps it was too cold for everyone! I did receive one book in the mail though, a lovely surprise from Bloomsbury Sydney:
My Salinger Year by Joanna Rakoff is a memoir of her first job, a literary agency in New York. It’s a flashback to the old-fashioned world of publishing (complete with pedal bound Dictaphone) and a man called Jerry. Jerry being J.D. Salinger of course. Joanna’s job involves writing replies to his fans, but one day she changes from the staid form letter and begins to write back. This book sounds great – it will be released in Australia on 26th June.
Do drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies. Overseen by Vicki (I’d Rather Be at the Beach), Leslie (Under My Apple Tree) and Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit), I’m sure you’ll find something you want to read!
