Mailbox Monday 26/5/14

The previous week has just flown by. All day, every day has been busy, busy and in my spare time, I’ve been dodging showers that turn into spontaneous downpours! Hopefully things will slow down a little in the next week but I’ve still had time to read – just a couple of short books, but I think it’s helped keep me calm!

I did get one lovely surprise in the mail (I was so busy I had to skip the bookshop visit), which was a book I’ve been really eager to read. It’s Kate Belle’s new book, Being Jade. I fangirled Kate at RWA13 last year because the ending of The Yearning was in my opinion, bloody brilliant. Naturally, I’m really excited for this book, which I hope to read on the forthcoming long weekend. Being Jade is about the discovery of a mother’s adultery after the father, Banjo, dies. His daughters are worried about the questions surrounding his death and Lissy goes searching for her mother’s former lovers as Banjo watches on and the truth is revealed…sounds brilliant. Thanks Simon & Schuster!

(Apologies for the graininess of the photo – sunshine is in short supply at present)

Do stop in at the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies. Overseen by Vicki (I’d Rather Be at the Beach), Leslie (Under My Apple Tree) and Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit), I’m sure you’ll find something you want to read, as well as more great books!

  1. I love surprise books and when they are ones you dearly want to have, it’s even better. I can’t be the only one to hug them when I pull them out of the box, can I?

I enjoy reading your comments! Thanks for stopping by.
