Mailbox Monday 10/11/14

Not a lot to report on this week, except it’s become clear that the Christmas shopping rush has started! In between some very good bargains, I  picked up two new releases that sounded interesting.

Funny Girl by Nick Hornby has a gorgeous cover and even several black and white photos inside to capture the essence of 1960s London. It’s a fiction book, following Miss Blackpool 1964 Barbara Parker as she becomes Sophie Straw, star of BBC. It looks really fun. The Woman Who Stole My Life by Marian Keyes was one of my picks for the month, and I’m happy to have this sparkly covered book in my hands. Not only does the blurb use the word ‘banjaxed’, but it makes the story sound intriguing as Stella involved in car crash that ultimately turns her life upside down. Now I just need to find time to read these!

Do stop in at the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies. Overseen by Vicki (I’d Rather Be at the Beach), Leslie (Under My Apple Tree) and Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit), I’m sure you’ll find something you want to read, as well as more great books!

  1. I’ve never actually read a book by either Marian Keyes or Nick Hornby, but I’ve heard great things about both, and of course I always love the Nick Hornby movie adaptions. Hope you enjoy both of these!

I enjoy reading your comments! Thanks for stopping by.
