Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading 10/10/16

I am really, really tired this week. Trying to catch up on everything was a big task! Hopefully this week will mean less running around. I did manage to read 2 and a bit books which was great. I joined Litsy too (find me there as samstillreading) which is a load of bookish fun! (Think of it as the offspring of Goodreads and Instagram).

I also bought a couple of books from my local Dymocks store (purchases not influenced by the current Booklover competition at all, truly):

I really enjoy Harriet Evans‘ books, so buying The Butterfly Summer was a no-brainer. It’s about the house belonging to Nina’s family, Keepsake, but it hides secrets and danger. The truth of the butterfly summer is about to be revealed…

I had also been hearing about The Assistants by Camille Perri for some time, so picked it up. (Isn’t it a gorgeous cover?) It’s about Tina who works for a media baron and one day receives an accidental cheque that will pay off her university fees. After temptation gets the better of her, others want in on her ‘scheme’ too. I’m about two thirds of the way through this one, and while it’s interesting, the characters aren’t overly lovable.

If you want to check other bookshelves, do drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies. Overseen by Vicki (I’d Rather Be at the Beach), Leslie (Under My Apple Tree) and Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit), I’m sure you’ll find many books for the wish list!

It’s Monday! What are you reading? hosted by Book Date and formerly by Book Journey and J Kaye. Click on the pictures to read more about the books.

  1. You certainly had a productive reading week. I won’t be posting a book post today as I’m not done with my Kindle book yet. Life was busy making sure the tween had a good birthday weekend.

  2. Great mailbox book selection this week. I rushed out to by Fiona Palmer’s new book last week, I couldn’t resist. I love to support our West Aussie authors. I hope you enjoy it and your other books. Butterfly Summer has such a gorgeous cover.
I also hope you get a chance to rest and recoup this week. Happy reading!
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier 🙂
