Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading 24/10/16

I thing spring could be finally here, if my nose is any judge. So, so sneezy! Plus, I’m sitting here in short sleeves!

Unfortunately no shopping for me last week due to prior engagements, so the book mail was extra special:

Dead in the Water by Tania Chandler was a prize from Scribe Publications and Goodreads. It’s an Aussie thriller set in the Victorian countryside. Brigitte thought that leaving the city was meant to make life happier, but when her ex-boyfriend comes to down, so does murder. Suddenly any chance of peace is shattered for her family…

The Cloud Leopard’s Daughter by Deborah Challinor was a surprise from Harper Collins. This book features Kitty, Amber and other characters from the Smuggler’s Wife series (which shamefully I haven’t read, even though I like Deborah Challinor’s books). The girls go to New Zealand after a message for help from their friend Wong Fu. He needs them to retrieve his daughter, who has been forcibly taken to China. But it’s not going to be easy, given that the girls are stuck in the middle of a game of greed, lust and opium.

If you want to check other bookshelves, do drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies. Overseen by Vicki (I’d Rather Be at the Beach), Leslie (Under My Apple Tree) and Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit), I’m sure you’ll find many books for the wish list!

It’s Monday! What are you reading? hosted by Book Date and formerly by Book Journey and J Kaye. Click on the pictures to read more about the books.

  1. We Were on a Break looks so fun! Dead in the Water caught my eye also. I’m sneezing here too even though it’s Autumn- glad Spring is headed your way! Have a good week!

  2. It’s great to see another Deborah Challinor release, I have enjoyed her books. The Tania Chandler book looks good. I read her first novel, Please Don’t Leave Me Here.
It’s nice that spring is finally here. I agree my nose is paying for it, my hayfever was terrible yesterday.
Have a great week and enjoy your books, happy reading!
