Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading: 8/1/18

Happy Orthodox Christmas if you celebrated! Things are still in summer mode here, which means not too much is happening anywhere. It’s all feeling rather laidback…

I received two books over the last week. Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking was a surprise from Pan Macmillan. Malin is a Valkyrie in training, a difficult thing to balance between life, love and slaying immortals. But when a rogue immortal breaks into her home, her loyalties are tested. Is Asher worth helping to betray all she knew?

Not for the Faint-Hearted by Kevin Rudd was a Christmas present. K.Rudd (or ‘Kevin07’) is a former prime minister of Australia and this book is the first of his memoirs. He’s well known for speaking Mandarin, reinvigorating Aussie sayings, providing the stimulus package that kept Australia from the worst of the GFC and politely declining a sleepover with 50 of his Facebook friends when they showed up at his house.

If you want to look at other books received this week across the globe, drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies.

It’s Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Book Date. Click on the pictures to read more about the books.
