Hope everyone had a good weekend – it was Australia Day last Friday so a long weekend, including the Triple J Hottest 100 on Saturday was great! Here are the books I bought over the last week:
The Girl from the Savoy by Hazel Gaynor looked like fun. Dolly gets a job as a chambermaid at The Savoy after World War I. Suddenly her life has sparkle and after answering a classified ad, she finds herself in the middle of London’s theatre scene. Will they find the future that glitters?
I am a sucker for nurse stories, so Call Nurse Jenny (aka For all the Bright Promise) by Maggie Ford was an auto-buy. Jenny becomes a nurse to do her bit for the war effort after her crush Matthew joins up. She gains confidence, but will he return the same man?
If you want to look at other books received this week across the globe, drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies.

I’d love to read The Girl From the Savoy. I think it would be a good story as well as interesting from a historical point of view.
