Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading: 14/5/18

Last week was odd in the way that time alternately crawled/flew. I think the weather is just as mixed up, with some summer like days and some rainy wintery ones. My reading has been mixed in a good way with both fiction and non-fiction on the shelf. I received two books this week, but didn’t find the time to get out and buy any.

Liar’s Candle by August Thomas arrived thanks to Simon & Schuster. It’s out in June and is about an intern at the US Embassy in Indonesia. Penny made headlines (and a hashtag) after the embassy was attacked. But the US government thinks Penny saw something else and is out to target her. Can she keep ahead of the pack?

The Cast by Danielle Steel (on sale 29th May) centres on Kait, a magazine columnist. She’s offered the opportunity to create a new TV series based on her grandmother’s life. But as Kait is drawn into the TV world, she finds her own personal challenges grow. Can her cast help her through? Thank you Pan Macmillan for fulfilling my Danielle Steel need!

If you want to look at other books received this week across the globe, drop by the Mailbox Monday blog for links to everyone’s mailbox goodies.

It’s Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Book Date. Click on the pictures to read more about the books.

  1. I love the look of both your books this week. Liars Candle sounds interesting and I enjoy a completely relaxing read from Danielle Steel.

  2. Our weather has been the same, we are in autumn yet we get some summer days, some are autumn days and now I think we’re truly into winter…2 weeks early!!!!
