Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading: 12/11/18

This time of year is great for two things – being busy and catching up with people. Not so great when you’re not feeling the best, but it meant that I could sit around and read without feeling guilty!

I received one book in the mail and bought two more over the course of the week. Hoping to get more reading done this week with some long commutes!

At the Wolf’s Table by Rosella Postorino (translated from the Italian by Leah Janeczko) is based on the true story of the women who were Hitler’s food tasters. Rosa is considering moving to rural Germany during World War II as she is alone. But then the SS knock on her door, informing her that she has been conscripted to be a taster. It’s a life and death situation every meal and divides the women’s loyalty until things reach fever pitch. This novel is set for release in February 2019. Many thanks to Simon & Schuster for sending me the copy.

Without Merit by Colleen Hoover is about the unconventional Voss family. Merit collects trophies that don’t belong to her and finds Sagan on one of her trips. Sagan is the kind of boy Merit didn’t know she needed, but she can’t have him. Merit decides to destroy the secrets of her family to escape, but when that fails, she needs to deal with the fallout from all angles.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover follows Lily, who has turned her life around to have everything she wants. When she meets Ryle, it’s almost too good to be true. Ryle is a commitment-phobe, and when first love Atlas returns to Lily’s life that relationship is threatened. I’ve got a feeling this will be an intense read…
