Mailbox Monday and What I’m Reading: 29/3/21

Last week went by very quickly in a blue of emails, phone calls and in the evening, turning off from it all. Here are the books I received recently:

The Hope Flower by Joy Dettman (available tomorrow) was a surprise from Pan Macmillan. Lori is one of 12 siblings and to make things more difficult, her father is no longer with them and her mother is volatile. The children realise that they are now on their own and can control their mother – to a point. Will their mother change the future for better or worse?

Trick of the Light by Fiona McCallum (available 7th April) was another surprise, this time from Harlequin.  Erica is a new widow and determined not to let anyone know that her finances are in ruins. She focuses on her job but something odd happens there, and then at home too…is something wrong with her?

Romancing Mr Bridgerton by Julia Quinn is Penelope and Colin Bridgerton’s story. Colin’s sick of being thought of as empty-headed, but when he returns from a trip abroad he’s astonished to see Penelope isn’t just in the background any more. Penelope thinks she knows a secret about Colin, but she also has her own…

  1. I’ve almost completed the first book in the Bridgerton series, so I will look forward to your review on the book about Colin and Penelope.

  2. ‘The Hope Flower’ sounds very intriguing and I love getting book surprises in the mail! I hope you enjoy your next read once you’ve settled on it 😉 I hope you have a lovely week and do drop by my Monday post if you have the time! – Juli @ A Universe in Words

  3. I can’t wait to get to the Bridgerton books! I’m waiting until I’ve collected them all before I give it a go! I think I’ll enjoy Penelope and Colin’s story simply because I never share a name with characters lol! It’ll be fun I think xD Definitely makes it easier to slip into the role of the character haha!

  4. I sure wish I still had the Bridgerton series which I apparently traded in at a 2nd hand store years back.
Nice surprise books you got too. Happy Reading!
