Another hot week here – and I don’t think we’re going to see temperatures fall any time soon below 33˚C (about 91˚F)! We had a spectacular thunderstorm, which had the feathered members of the household rather worried. Apart from that, it’s been busy with little time for book hunting.
I bought just one book, as it was the Kindle Daily Deal and it’s intrigued me for some time:
Custard Tarts and Broken Hearts by Mary Gibson is about Nellie, who works at a custard and jelly factory (yum). The workers have gone on strike, but things are about to be overshadowed by the First World War.

This looks like a great read and I have already marked it for my Goodreads ‘Want To Read’ list. Jelly and custard brings back memories of childhood birthday parties, although tell a child now that this was going to be their birthday tea and wait for the tantrums!
I know that we all like to moan about our weather, but to be honest I wouldn’t swap our cold wet and windy conditions, down here in the south of the UK, for those heatwave conditions you have! I probably wouldn’t be saying that if I lived in the much snowier north of the country though LOL

We’ve had a span of temperature: 35 in the morning to 70 early afternoon. Pretty usual for North Florida. Custard Tarts sounds like a good read. Enjoy!
