This week was a somewhat quieter week for a mailbox (it really did need some recovery time after last week)! I received just two books, which was good as I finished two books too!
The first book was from the lovely people at Bloomsbury, who know just what sort of books I’ll enjoy:
Ada’s Rules by Alice Randall sounds funny and witty, as well as possibly picking up some good eating tips along the way.
The second book is August’s choice for the bookclub I recently joined at my local Dymocks. The first meeting was really interesting and some great bookish discussion went on between mouthfuls of coffee and cake (sorry Ada!).
The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan was released earlier this year and deals with a murder trial and an overcrowded lifeboat. I’m quite eager to read this but will try to hold off until closer to the next meeting.
Please check out Mrs Q: Book Addict, who is our host for July and find some lovely titles to lust for!
I just finished the Lifeboat yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It only took me a day and a half to read though, so you are right to hold off until closer to your meeting!
Glad you enjoyed The Lifeboat. After Life of Pi (which I adored), and Jamrach’s Menagerie (great book but very graphic), unfortunately I think I have had enough of stories involving survival on lifeboats for a little while 😉
I’ve read mixed reviews of The Lifeboat but do understand that it’s a great book for discussing. Enjoy your new books!
Ok, so The Lifeboat has me really intrigued. I hope it’s good!
Oh yeah, and O’m following you by RSS now. Cheers!

I like the look of Ada’s Rules…enjoy your books! Here’s MY MONDAY MEMES POST
I hope you love The Lifeboat!
I’m sure there will be some interesting discussions from The Lifeboat. I wasn’t crazy about it but other reviewers loved it. I didn’t like the main character… although her behavior should stimulate some good discussion.
They both sound like interesting reads.

The Lifeboat is also on my TBR list–I’ll be interested to hear how you like it.
